For tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, at least 69 in listening, 70 in reading, 85 in writing and 88 in speaking. Home Affairs sets no overall PTE score at this level.
At least 8 in each of listening, reading, writing and speaking, in IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training.
Home Affairs says PTE Academic has the same name as the previous version of the test, but the test and scores are different. It publishes one table for tests taken on or after 7 August 2025 and another for tests on or before 6 August 2025.
Within the 3 years before your visa application, depending on the visa subclass. Home Affairs: “To prove you have superior English, show us evidence that you have achieved one of the test scores listed in Table 1 or Table 2 in the 3 years before your visa application, depending on the visa subclass.”
