For tests taken on or after 7 August 2025, at least 58 in listening, 59 in reading, 69 in writing and 76 in speaking. Home Affairs sets no overall PTE score at this level.

Home Affairs says PTE Academic has the same name as the previous version of the test, but the test and scores are different. It publishes one table for tests taken on or after 7 August 2025 and another for tests on or before 6 August 2025.

Home Affairs: “To prove you have proficient English, show us evidence that you have achieved one of the test scores listed in Table 1 or Table 2 in the 3 years before your visa application, depending on the visa subclass.”
