If your account details do not match your passport, you will not be allowed to take the test and will not be eligible for a refund.
- Arriving late. You must arrive at least 30 minutes before your test and sign in at the test center reception. If you arrive late you will not be allowed to take the test and you will lose your test fee.
- Cancelling inside a week. 3. If you cancel 7 days or fewer before your booked test time You will not receive a refund.
- Rescheduling inside 14 days. The reschedule button disappears, so you cancel, take the refund tier you fall in (50% from 14 days down to more than 7), and pay a new fee.
A point or two short: rescore or retake?
Both cost money, and they work differently.
| Item | Rescore | Retake |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | $160 USD. If your overall or communicative skills scores change, the rescore fee will be refunded. | AUD 499 for a new test |
| What happens | While the PTE test is a machine-scored test, a rescore is carried out by a human scorer. | A new sitting, scored from scratch. |
| Risk | If your score changes, it will overwrite your old score, and you will no longer be able to use your previous score. | A new result is a new score. Pearson's retake policy lets you retake, one test at a time. |
| Rules | You cannot request a rescore if you have already scheduled another test. If you are considering requesting a rescore, you should do so before sharing your score in any applications you are making. To request a rescore, please phone the Customer Support team within 14 calendar days of your score being made available to you. | You can only book your new test once you have received the scores from your last test |
